Donate stock
Donating stock allows you to avoid the capital gains tax and if you itemize deductions, you can also take a charitable deduction for the entire donation amount. If you are interested in this, please reach out to our Managing Director of Development, Marvin Vilma, at mvilma@letsgetready.org.
Donate from IRA
If you are 70.5 or older and have a traditional IRA, you can make a donation from your IRA account. IRA gifts are generally not recognized as taxable income and if you must take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) this year, giving from your IRA is a compassionate way to fulfill it. Planned Giving
A bequest via a will, trust, or beneficiary designation is a wonderful way to leave a lasting legacy on college access and success for many students and generations to come. Corporate giving and matching
Many corporations have matching gift programs for nonprofits like Let’s Get Ready. It’s an easy way to double, or even triple, the impact of your personal contribution! Ask your human resources department for details and any necessary forms. To set up a matching donations campaign, contact Development at giving@letsgetready.org.
Donor-advised funds
Many investment firms offer Donor-advised fund (DAF) programs, like Fidelity Charitable or Vanguard Charitable, as a way to make tax-deductible contributions in the form of money, traded assets like stock, or even illiquid assets like real estate.
