- Respond to student homework questions via our student learning platform and email
- Satisfactorily capture and submit student attendance
- Build a warm and welcoming virtual classroom environment
- Demonstrate virtual classroom management skills, including navigating between whole-group instruction and small-group and individual support
- Attend weekly coaching meetings with Instructional Coach and Supervisor
Leadership Responsibilities (30%)
- Respond to student communication (emails & messages) about SAT Prep and operations, including but not limited to program launch, diagnostic completion, and scheduling
- Assist PM in instructor training and program debrief initiatives, including delivering select content and leading a space for instructors to practice during the training period
- Facilitate the second day of testing for Diag 1 and 2 and support with other diagnostic testing initiatives as needed
- Additional duties may be included (such as class coverage, zoom moderator)
Qualifications and Experience

There is no nomination process or academic requirements for participation in Let’s Get Ready programs. Any student who expresses interest is eligible for services, with students from low-income backgrounds or who are first-generation-to-college given priority. Position Overview:

- Attending a weekly supervision meeting (by phone/video) with a Program Manager to discuss progress towards goals; flagging and notifying Program Manager of urgent/sensitive situations

The Let’s Get Ready staff sends pre-scheduled text messages each week to our high school students with helpful tips, reminders, and check-in questions. When students reply to those pre-scheduled texts with questions or comments, Virtual Access core coaches respond to students and start a conversation. Virtual Access Core Coaches jump into action when a student shares a challenge, to build a relationship, provide individualized support, and troubleshoot the issue.
This role is an exciting opportunity to have a large-scale impact on the students we serve by supporting them through our weekly texting curriculum, answering their questions, and providing encouragement and resources to support their college goals.
In addition to supporting students over texts, coaches will work with their program manager to prepare for and deliver ~monthly Zoom workshops around the college admissions process. Workshops aim to inform and guide students, deepen relationships between students and Core coaches, and engage students on a deeper level around the college admissions process.
Virtual Access Core Coaches report to a Let’s Get Ready Program Manager who provides guidance and support through weekly supervision meetings.

- Facilitate ~5 virtual, 1.5 hour long workshops every ~6 weeks and host one-on-one college list building meetings with students

- Prepare to facilitate workshop 4 weeks in advance by attending workshop content walkthrough, reviewing and updating own speaker notes, and practicing a “dress rehearsal” run through with program manager and on own time
- May be asked on occasion to make phone calls to students for further assistance with the college access process
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must be a current or recent undergraduate student who has demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
- Students must be able to commit to the position for the full school year with summer employment included (October 2024 through August 2025).

- Lived experience or experience working with students from under-resourced communities
- 1st generation college student
- In good academic standing and plan to be enrolled in college in school year 2024-2025
- Schedule flexibility to ensure students are being served via regular communication
- Strong presentation, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills – especially the ability to communicate with warmth and build mentoring relationships over individual student meetings and workshops
- Ability to use discernment and clear judgment about the level of support and follow-up needed including following LGR’s escalation protocols to identify and support at-risk students
- Demonstrates ability to present college admissions content virtually to students in a workshop style
Training:
- Access Core Facilitators are expected to attend mandatory virtual training over Zoom and complete onboarding tasks before working with students
- Facilitation training sessions are mandatory and will happen before the first workshop and occasionally throughout the year. They will provide deeper understanding of workshops and the skills needed to facilitate
More about the Position and Location:
This is a part- time remote position that requires 6 to 8 hours per week. The schedule varies, but facilitators are expected to commit to the position for a full year from October 2024 through August 2025. Flexibility will be offered for school breaks/personal breaks as appropriate to meet program objectives and in consultation with your manager.
Compensation:
The hourly wage is at least $12.00/hour or your work location’s minimum wage – whichever is higher.
This position runs from 10/21/2024 -8/15/2025.
