Let’s Get Ready is pleased to announce that it has been certified by Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service, as a Service Enterprise. Certification signifies that organizations have the capability and management expertise to strategically use volunteers to drive performance in their organization.
Passionate, driven, and talented volunteer college students are at the heart of the Let’s Get Ready model. By achieving this certification, Let’s Get Ready ensures its commitment to strategic volunteer engagement and that its volunteers are at the center of its human capital strategy.
Through intensive organizational assessment, cross-departmental conversations and expert coaching from Points of Light, Let’s Get Ready identified 6 key areas of growth, and devoted a full year to aligning our work across these benchmarks. Kathrine Mott, Chief Executive Officer, shared that, “Participating in the Service Enterprise process has helped us to think more deeply about how to resource our volunteer recruitment and management systems. We look forward to implementing the recommendations of Service Enterprise to propel our work in engaging our volunteers in service.”
Research conducted by the TCC Group, a national program and evaluation firm, found that Service Enterprises outperform peer organizations on all aspects of organizational effectiveness including adaptability, sustainability, and scalability, while operating at half the median budget.
Let’s Get Ready is a proud partner of NYC Service, a division of the Office of the Mayor. Their partnership supported this organization-wide Service Enterprise process, and we are grateful for their ongoing support through NYC Civic Corps, an AmeriCorps Program.
The Service Enterprise Initiative is a national change management program that helps organizations gain a greater return on volunteer investment to better achieve their mission.
