“We had two choices: let everything go, or fight. Mariama showed me that we needed to fight.”
Mariama has faced many obstacles, including the deportation of her father, to get into and thrive at Georgetown University. As a high school student, she received free SAT prep and college mentoring from Let’s Get Ready, and the organization continues to support her as she pursues her degree. In the summer before her junior year at Georgetown, she served Let’s Get Ready as a Transition Coach, helping her peers complete their college applications and start off their freshman year smoothly.
