- Ensure a meaningful and productive program experience for students
- Prepare for and deliver engaging math and/or verbal SAT test-prep instruction virtually to groups of high school students using an established SAT curriculum
- Assign, monitor and encourage homework completion
- Respond to student homework questions via our student learning platform and email
- Satisfactorily capture and submit student attendance
- Build a warm and welcoming virtual classroom environment
- Demonstrate virtual classroom management skills, including navigating between whole-group instruction and small-group and individual support
- Attend weekly coaching meetings with Instructional Coach and Supervisor
Leadership Responsibilities (30%)
- Respond to student communication (emails & messages) about SAT Prep and operations, including but not limited to program launch, diagnostic completion, and scheduling
- Assist PM in instructor training and program debrief initiatives, including delivering select content and leading a space for instructors to practice during the training period
- Facilitate the second day of testing for Diag 1 and 2 and support with other diagnostic testing initiatives as needed
- Additional duties may be included (such as class coverage, zoom moderator)
Qualifications and Experience

- Provide responsive support for students based on individual needs, including but not limited to: finding academic support on their respective campus, achieving school-work-life balance, navigating home-sickness, and engaging in campus life
- Tracking communication with mentees using our Salesforce data platform
- Collect student information to share with LGR to ensure students are on track.
- Attending a weekly supervision meeting (by phone/video) with a Program Manager to discuss progress towards goals; flagging and notifying Program Manager of urgent/sensitive situations
Training Responsibilities

- Attending a weekly supervision meeting (by phone/video) with a Program Manager to discuss progress towards goals; flagging and notifying Program Manager of urgent/sensitive situations
Training:

Core Coaches jump into action when a student shares a challenge to build a relationship, provide individualized support, and troubleshoot the issue. This role is an exciting opportunity to have a large-scale impact on the students we serve by supporting them through our weekly texting curriculum, answering their questions, and providing encouragement and resources to support their college goals. Once or twice per week, pre-scheduled messages will go out to students which typically generate an influx of student responses that the Coach needs to answer during those pre-scheduled windows. In addition, coaches will need to “spot check” the platform each day and respond to any messages that might have trickled in.

- Provide a college perspective – sharing relevant stories from your experience as a college student to help students navigate their own journey
- Send relevant tip sheets from LGR curriculum and guide students to make good use the school resources available to them
- Develop warm rapport with students and ask follow-up questions, with the goals of increasing program engagement and supporting matriculation and persistence in college
Qualifications:
- Must be a current or recent undergraduate student who has demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
- Students must be able to commit to the position for the full school year (through August).
